For macOS

Calm rain on your Mac,
and breaks that actually stick.

RainBreak overlays a gentle layer of falling rain across your screen and steps in for a real break when it is time to stop. It lives in your menu bar, stays click-through while you work, and only takes over when you ask it to.

Free. Apple-notarized. Apple silicon and Intel.

Built to stay out of your way

Click-through rain

While you work, the rain is purely visual. Clicks pass straight through to whatever is underneath. Nothing to dismiss, nothing in the way.

Breaks that hold

When a break starts, the screen becomes a calm rain lock for the time you chose. It is enough of a pause to make you actually step away.

Lives in the menu bar

Start, take a break, or open settings from one small menu bar icon. The menu pops on launch so you never hunt for it.

A real panic key

Double-tap Esc to stop everything instantly - rain, lock, or break. Only Quit ever closes the app, never a stray key press.

How it works

  1. 1

    Install and launch

First launch walks you through a quick setup with rain already falling.

  2. 2

    Work as usual

RainBreak waits in the menu bar. Turn the rain on whenever you like.

  3. 3

    Take the break

Start a timed break and let the screen hold a calm pause until you are ready.
